Thank you Phil. I was looking at a bitless bridle too. I tried crossing her reins under on her halter, because up to now that is what I have been working with (halter) she seemed to respond well. I will check out bit you speak of. She works very well on the ground. I can control her speed and direction well with kissing my lips and saying trot, canter, walk, slow down, and she always stops on a dime. Backs when I tell her to back, even if I'm on her back. BUT I'm having trouble getting her to pick up the pace when I am on her back. She walks well, responds pretty good with my foot for turning. When she starts to trot, she goes right back to a walk after 2 or 3 steps. I was going to put a saddle on her and do ground work with that again. It's like she doesn't know what to do if I bounce on the trot. Good thing is she loves to work and loves to please. What do you think I am doing wrong with the speed on her back? I've been riding bareback. Thanks much
