I have recently bought a mustang and her baby. I have assisted in training horses before and am trying to work with her on my own as how I don't agree with a lot of training methods "professional" trainers use. She was adopted by a man who had no patients with her and he abused her. She will come up and eat out of my hand but shys if I try to touch her. If I keep trying to she becomes aggressive. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion about how to get her to let me touch her with her acting like she has been stung. I know it will take time but she doesn't seem to be making any progress. Any suggestions? btw I have been working with her for 4 months now if that helps. I also needs some help with her baby. I have never worked with a colt that has not been handled and he is already 6 months old.
