May I also add that if you are able...do everything this horse needs yourself. Muck yourself, feed yourself. Don't pay somebody else to do anything. I feel this helps bring the bond quicker because you are the sole being responsible for their care. With my mustangs, when it rained...I stood out in the rain for an hour with them and just talked about stuff. Other times I would sit on the top of the pipe corral and read books about training horses. Commenting on them out loud to my horse. She got very curious and would come closer and listen. Once you do build some trust, don't rush to put the halter on....in my opinion only. If it were me, I would just try to gently touch them. You have to find what your horse likes, but you will need to invest 100's of hours. It works and it pays off BIG. NOTHING feels better than when you accomplish a goal with your wild mustang and can move on to the next goal.
