Norden Bomb Sight Procedures

I am writing an alternate history WWII novel. To ensure reality I would like to know how the Norden Bomb Sight worked,i.e., the basic info that was fed into it, and how that was done.
Also, what happened to the 357th's planes after VE Day? When did crews start rotating home? Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.
