My father was Lt.Charles J Canty. He was with the 457th 750th squadron. I have his flight book, and he flew 32 combat missions. He was a bombardier/Navigator. He was injured on 7/9/1944, I believe he was on the fish and chips.
He received the DFC, I think for pulling some men out of the plane. My dad had alot of records in a cedarchest, which I have been going thru. I am checking the flight book against the missions on this web site. I also have letters written from Glatton from my father to his mom, and also from the pilot he flew with Edward Stevens and Charles Johns. I am trying to find out if he flew in the Flak Dodger, and the names of the other planes. Is there any family out there related to Stevens or Johns?
