Hi all, hope everyone has had a great week and is having a restful weekend. We had a pretty productive day down at the museum, mostly we moved airplanes around and cleaned up some more. Preparing for the Winter months is the big thing right now for us. Today, flying was also a big priority! Aircraft - C-47 - W7 is now facing the back corner of the hangar where the C-119 used to be. Her nose is painted towards the wall for easier access between the plane and the tools. B-17 - Still at the Airshow in Monroe, NC, and from what I hear it is a great show. Aero Commander - The flagship had a great couple of flights today! What a great aircraft (see pics below...) L-21 - Also flew today, getting in as much as we can before Winter hits! L-16 - Flew today a couple times, another great little plane. Office Building - The Roof has been completed and looks fantastic, great work done by all to keep the very useful building with us for years to come. '41 Fighter Fund - Starting December 1st, I will be running a "loose change" drive! It will run until the last of the snow melts. Also I am going to raffle off Tom K's puzzles once time permits. 2010 Airshow - Haven't heard much on the official planning of it yet, I'm sure we will soon. Pictures - Enjoy!!
The new roofing on our office building
Packing in the hangar for winter
"Super" Dave and John Pieper repairing the shot brake lines on our cherry picker
"Super" Dave at the Controls of the L-16, he does it all! Craig Wadsworth took him up earlier today
Really hoping to take this bird to a few airshows this summer
Jen Pieper and Don Nichols getting the L-21 cranked up
As John Pieper and I watching the L-21 go aloft, we couldn't resist to follow suit!
The Home Field
Over Conesus Lake, despite temps in the 60s and calm winds, no one was out on their boat
We had a feeling our paths would cross!
This was my best shot I think
Originally I though this pic was gonna be bad, but it actually looks kinda cool with the '21 blurred and the strut/wing in focus
I made sure to give 'em a wave
Taxiing back after a very successful flight, what a welcoming view - Austin Hancock
