Hi all, hope everyone has had an excellent weekend! Not much aircraft related stuff going on around the museum today, however we still managed to busy ourselves . John/Joe Swanson (not related, but a neat coincidence), Austin W and I worked on improving the aged roof of the office building. We are using the same kind of roofing that's on Swanson Hall, just a lighter shade of brown. All that remains is the west side of the building and then she'll be all done! Here's what else has been goin' on... Aircraft - C-47 - Saturday was her last flight of the season, she will undergo routine maintenance this winter and then grace the skies once more come spring. B-17 - Will be taken out of the hangar soon to go to an airshow in...NC, I believe. Hangar - The floor is really holding up nicely! Everyone has done a great job with keeping it clean, which is no easy task. I think that heating and lights are soon to come, but not 100% sure. '41 Fighter Fund - Upset that ya didn't win the jacket? Well, I would like to announce a new raffle for the fund, your choice of either a C-47 or a B-17 Puzzle! These beautiful puzzles were constructed by our fearless leader Tom K. You can enter to win one or both puzzles, $1 per ticket (so if you wanted to enter both, buy one ticket for each). One of these puzzles would make a great X-Mas gift for a fan of aircraft, our museum, or neat art! An official poster will be posted just as soon as I complete it so you will know all the details. Also, I will be announcing a winter endeavor in the next few days (don't wanna over-stimulate anyone ). Calendars - The 2010 1941 HAG calendar featuring photography by our very own Bruce Vinal are now available in the HAG Store! They cost $19.41 and judging by what I saw, they are well worth it! Winter 09-10 - Looks like a lot of fun and interesting projects will be going on, so if you wanna get involved, now is the time Pictures - Here are some from around the Museum this weekend...
Ed's Final Farewell, rest in peace chief...
